The Sports Ranch Grand Opening

Sommers Bend just got greener—The Sports Ranch community park recently celebrated its grand opening, introducing an incredible new amenity to not only the master plan but also the city of Temecula.

Residents came together for the official opening this month, where Temecula’s City Council Members spoke about the highly anticipated development and participated in a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Families then got to enjoy live music, refreshments and activities as they explored the park and all it had to offer.

Designed and developed by Woodside Homes, this all-new regional sports park was brought to life in partnership with JDA member Wingsweep. It was smooth sailing as they worked together to expedite the delivery of such an incredible amenity so early in the development of the Sommers Bend master plan, ultimately bringing it to life years ahead of schedule.

“We wanted potential residents to see what they were getting when they decided to call Sommers Bend home. As homebuilders, we’re always looking to exceed expectations and truly give the people the lifestyle they’ve been promised and more,” said Chris Chambers, Southern California Division President of Woodside Homes.

And The Sports Ranch is now ready to bring more motion and activity to Sommers Bend with over 20 acres of explorable space. There’s plenty of room to both play and relax with two regulation baseball/softball fields, two regulation soccer fields, two basketball courts, a concession building, a playground, barbecue areas with picnic tables and shaded structures to lounge under.

“It anchors the community with a great sports facility that draws in activity. Residents are going to be able to watch their kids play on sports teams right next door,” said Greg Hastings, Development Director of the Sommers Bend master plan at Woodside Homes.

This exciting park will be fully staffed and operated by the City of Temecula while also bringing a whole new lifestyle focused on wellness to the community. It will be easier than ever before to pack a picnic, grab a soccer ball and enjoy a day spent outdoors with the whole family near home from sunrise to sunset with lighted sports fields.
